With the New Year brings new opportunities, and with that we are delighted to launch our rebranded company, City Room Rentals with the first phased rollout of new city coverage in quarter 2 of 2016.

To our customers, clients and university community that have made Edinburgh Room Rentals such a tremendous success in 2015 we thank you wholeheartedly for your support and business. Without your partnerships, recommendations and level of enthusiasm that matched only our own, we would not have had the platform for growth. Thanks also to our design partners, Lyles Sutherland for their hard work and perseverance throughout the design and testing process!

Edinburgh has proved a wonderful launch city and we are extremely proud to headquarter our business in the Scottish Capital. The city and the wider country is going through somewhat of a renaissance period in terms of new business start up’s and the wider Entrepreneurial buzz of excitement that is tangible in the air. The business benefits greatly from the Entrepreneurial Spark and Scottish Edge networks and support, with the company centred at RBS Gogarburn.

The business continues to partner with leading Universities to help attract students from around the world to study in the UK. We look forward to helping prospective students and universities across our new cities find exceptional accommodation.

Our commercial hotel division continues to provide partners with the expertise to utilise underused assets during vacant summer periods, through peak leisure occupancies, to operate as hotels. This includes turning many student residences into hotels to cater for the Edinburgh Fringe and the 50,000 annual Festival performers that flood into the city with many requesting our managed, affordable high quality accommodation. In addition our exclusive partnership with theGuardian Edinburgh International Television Festival has delivered a new and exciting Festival Campus offering to delegates and crew.

The business also looks forward to our new partnership with Homes for Students (HFS) in 2016, who are the new management agents of the £417m student housing portfolio Project Ardent. For an exciting overview of our business progression, partnerships and awards, check out our somewhat different ‘About us’ timeline that breaks from the norm!

Fundamentally we needed a rebrand and a new platform that reflected our now national scope of business and operations. With market launches into Stirling, Aberdeen, Glasgow, London and St Andrews over the coming months its going to be a busy period!  Our consultancy arm of the company has also been advising on the University of the Highland and Islands new flagship accommodation developments in Fort William and Inverness which is an exciting project to be a part of. Other market launches and further university partnerships will also be announced in the coming months.

As a result of the above developments the time was right to have a brand that reflected our national remit and future aspirations! Our core operations will continue with our education and tourism partners in Edinburgh and run in tandem with our new markets.

We hope you enjoy the site and find it fun, informative and also practical for your uses. If you would like to see a little more about what we do, please check out‘what we do’. As usual, we welcome your feedback on the site and will incorporate new ideas into subsequent versions of the rollout which will be ever evolving as we grow!

Thanks for reading!

Nick.
