Newcastle is the city that has been in the news a fair amount of late, given the recent excursions of their recently promoted football team, the city has long been one of the most popular places to live and with a population of nearly 2,000,000 people.

Culture:

The city of Newcastle has a number of museums available for people to visit whenever you want, there’s a number of places like the Discovery Museum, Beamish Museum, Great North Museum, Hatton Gallery, Turbinia and Hancock.

If you enjoy watching films at the cinema, then you're in luck here, too, Newcastle has a number of vibrant cinemas such as Empire Cinemas, Odeon (Which has it’s on IMAX Screen too) and Tyneside Cinemas. If you’re more than just a cinema fan, then studying Film and Media at University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne could be a great course to study!

Nightlife:

Newcastle has a selection of award-winning nightclubs, restaurants, bars and pubs, all of which have a warm and inviting atmosphere for you from the start. The nightlife in Newcastle has been know to carry on into the early hours of the morning so prepare for a long and fun filled life, this doesn't come to a big surprise considering Newcastle University  was awarded 2nd place for the best university for nightlife.

Activities:

The city has a number of cool events that happen every year, whether that be the citywide Grand Lantern Parade, which is a magical live music event, incorporating light and movement, an expressionist festival that has been growing in size since it's inception. Tickets have been known to sell out very quickly however, so you'll need to make sure that you grab yours as early as possible.

Transport:

Bus routes, cycle paths, underground metros and train stations criss-cross the city and keeps the city all interconnected and at a cheap rate, too! The city also has an international airport, too, with easy global access.
